Smooth Industries

It was in my dream since 1995 to create a company like Smooth Industries. A company that offering motocross industry innovative and cool apparels.

For over 25 years now I have been a motocross fan and in my childhood I used to cut out photos from the pages of motocross magazines and plastered them to my bedroom’s wall. Few years later when I was finishing my job as an editor at Motocross Action magazine, I envisioned a company that will manufacture and design innovative riding gears.

I knew I was on to something but my dream was boosted when I met Jim Hale, owner of Axo Sport America, Mechanix Wear and Renthal U.S. Hale told me about a product line that could help me to get started. Hale was a true visionary in my eyes for so many days. However, unfortunately our collaboration didn’t last long. While I was at ACZ Hale was in the midst of starting Mehcanix Wear at the same time. I now know it was a good decision for him as the company had grown hugely within brief period.

In the year of 2000, O’Neal and I formed a partnership and that was the beginning of Smooth Industries. At that period I had good friendship with Jeremy McGrath, he was at his best of Supercross at that time. It was grand idea to duplicate his gear, Signature Series replica pajamas. Once the manufacturing was finished along with shipping and marketing we received phone call, e-mails, and photos of people wearing that pajama. It was a great response and to this date Jeremy remains one of our top selling riders.

In 2004, I felt the company was stagnant and not growing that much I felt it had the potential for. As an attempt to accelerate the growth of the company I decided to buy the remaining share of the business. I am forever grateful to O’Neal for his part in the creation of the company.

The decision clicked for me and since then Smooth Industries has recorded continuous growth. I am thankful to countless new products which were targeted specifically to the young enthusiast. Smooth has now over sixty products in six categories, more than 12 licenses along with a distribution network in about 20 countries across the world. The company has its corporate office and warehouse under one roof of 8000 square-foot area.

We build from the soul and foundation of the sport but we simply would not exist without our racers and their dedicated fans. We truly believe that these fans are our loyal customers. Always remember we always appreciate your support.

I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to license guys like Travis Pastrana, Chad Reed, Jeremy, Brian Deegan and Ronnie Renner. I am also thankful to all of my employees and my family, who devoted themselves to helping me realize my dream. Because of their continuous support and love my dream came into reality and Smooth Industries was born.
