Since the merger the company has become the world’s largest tire and rubber company in no time. The brand’s headquarter is now located at Nashvile and it was transferred from Akron in 1992.

With fifty two production facilities and over 50,000 employees throughout USA Bridgestone Americas (BSAM) is now an international family of enterprises.

BSAM is now focusing on to serve a broad range of customers through a variety of products like Bridgestone, Firestone tires manufactured by its subsidiaries or BSAM itself. The brand already captured the Western Hemisphere by developing, manufacturing and marketing air springs, industrial fibers & textiles and roofing materials. Moreover, the BSAM is engaged in operating the world’s largest chain of automotive tire.

In its quest of holding the leading position in the world BSAM is continuously providing high quality products and top class customer service. At the same time the brand is very much aware of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Founder Shojiro Ishibashi said Bridgestone is dedicated to “serving society with superior quality” and the company nurtures and sticks to this culture all the way through.

One Team, One Planet

The BSAM is committed to the environment to keep it healthy and sustainable for the current and future generations. This commitment is a proof of our three main objectives.

Out first objective is to stay in harmony with nature. We strongly believe that “we are all in this together” and every corporate citizen has some responsibilities to the environment and to the community. While manufacturing products we emphasize on protecting the biodiversity in the form of habitat enhancement. We maintain high environmental standard in all our production facilities through the highest level of environmental education program. Besides, at R&D facilities we always concentrate on environmental research for innovation in our products.

We believe natural resources are the most valuable gift to mankind. In order to preserve this precious gift we continually strive to decrease the use of natural resources while manufacturing our products. Our tire plants are nearly 99% efficient in producing saleable tires which gives evidence that we are also reducing the amount of waste in our production plants. This is our second objective.

Our third objective is to reduce the emissions of CO2 and other harmful gases. From the life-cycle of our products to the final outcome we are equally aware of that. Reducing CO2 emission by 25% before 2020 is our corporate goal. In order to achieve this goal we have invested a lot of money and time in innovative programs like EPA’s SmartWay program and at the same time we are educating our customers on how they can conserve fuel and enhance the useful life of their tires. Through our 2,200 retail stores we are spreading this message rapidly.

We take pride in what we have done and what we are doing to the environment, to the community. These efforts have brought us the world wide recognition and achievements. We would be happy if you kindly read our Corporate Environmental Mission to get a more elaborate idea.
