The new Alpinestars Tech 7 Boothas modified the shape of the padding around the ankle and added more cushioning in the sole. They wanted to make the boot more comfortable for a greater range of ankle shapes and sizes, more secure, and more form-fitting around the ankle. They are available in sizes 5 – 16 and in four different colorways, Black, Black/White, Black/Red, and White/Blue.
The Tech 7 closure system features 4 aluminum buckles with memory and a quick release/locking system with self-aligning design for easy, precise closure. Unlike the Tech 10 boot that had many problems with riders trying to keep the buckles closed or getting them to open, the Tech 7 boots still has a few problems. Trying to get them unclasped can cause some difficulties, but they the rider no longer has to worry about them unclasping while on the track, which is great for a less-expensive premium boot.
The Tech 7 and Tech 10 have similar full-grain leather outer material, polyurethane inner shells for impact and abrasion resistance, and dual-compound toe boxes for improved flexibility and increased impact protection. The Alpinestars Tech 7 doesn’t have the extra padding of the bootie so sizing we would recommend you to get the next size down from the shoe size you wear, unless you like the little extra wiggle room for your toes. It features an exclusive high grip rubber double density compound outsole with replaceable sole. It still holds the same technology as the Tech 10 boot and wears at the same rate, but it does have a replaceable sole to increase the longevity of the boot.
Though fairly stiff for the first few rides, they become flexible. It tends to become flexible faster than the Tech 10 boot does. Some like the flexible feel and some don’t, it all depends on the rider. There are also a chilles flex zones for superior comfort, control and support.
Riders who have spent years in bootie-style boots usually like the snugger feel, while non-bootie boot riders felt that the Tech 7 has made noteworthy developments in the fit and feel of the boot.
