The first advancement in 4 decades. Traditional chest protectors have been the same for over 40 years - A combination of injection-molded plastic, laminated absorbent foam, and a fastening system holding them together. Finally, Atlas is proud to introduce the Defender - The first modern solution to body protection made to integrate seamlessly with your Atlas Brace.

With inspiration from high-end running shoes, Atlas is introducing a big step forward in comfort, durability, and water resistance. The Defender padding is extremely lightweight, incredibly tough and tear-resistant, and is completely waterproof. Finally, a chest protector you can wash knowing it will not put on water weight, or be wet for your next ride.
In with the new. Using a high-performance padding solution also meant using a high-performance assembly technique. Gone are the days of using dozens of cheap, low quality rivets to hold everything together. By bonding the padding to the plastic shell, Atlas creates a permanent singular assembly with no gaps, loose parts, fasteners, added weight, or protruding plastic features facing the body.
Each Atlas Defender comes with a free GoPro camera chest mount. Bolt this optional mount directly to your Defender along with your own GoPro camera to get a perfect view of your riding, racing, or other extreme sports activity (note: GoPro camera NOT included).
With five possible configurations, and the ability be worn under or over a jersey, the Defender is the perfect addition to your Atlas Brace. Atlas even provides built-in simple elastic straps to hold your brace in place.
Configure your Defender in a way that suits you. Choose an over the jersey option: Full Defender + neck brace - Over the jersey, Defender with PVC upper back + neck brace - Over the jersey, Full Defender + NO neck brace - Over the jersey. Or choose one of the following under-the-jersey options: Defender with PVC upper back + neck brace - Under the jersey, Full Defender + NO neck brace - Under the jersey.
By creating a seamless bond between the outer shell and padding, air doesn't get trapped in hidden gaps that exist with traditional protectors. A total of 52 intake and exhaust vents help promote maximum airflow to the body, and molded air channels in the padding help keep it circulating right where you want it.
Adjust your Defender on the fly by simply sliding the waist strap adjuster till you reach the desired fit. Slide it forward to tighten, and backwards to loosen.
Unique waist straps have built-in magnets to help keep the straps in place during use.

The Defender can be worn under or over a jersey. Configure it in a way that suits your needs.
Changing configurations is made easy, thanks to Atlas' unique single tool removal. Custom CNC-machined aluminum fasteners are recessed into the shell on one side, allowing for easier removal with a single flat-head screwdriver, coin, or any other similar object.
Designing the first modern era chest protector meant making the inside just as beautifully crafted as the outside. Each surface of the shell and padding have a strategically chosen surface finish and texture to not only improve the looks and style, but also prolong the durability and the life of the product.
Simplistic design not only enhances features and function, it also lends itself to customization. Custom graphics are readily available, making it easy to add your name, number, and personal style.

Atlas Sizing Chart

The sizing for each Atlas Brace™ is based on chest circumference (distance around the chest, measured just under the arms).

The sizing is as follows:

Broll: 21" - 25" (53cm - 63 cm)
Tyke: 24" - 28" (61cm - 71 cm)
Prodigy: 29" - 33" (74cm - 84 cm)
Small: 33" - 36" (84cm - 92 cm)
Medium: 37" - 41" (94cm - 104 cm)
Large: 42+ (106 cm+)

Fitting Guidelines

Before making a purchase, be sure to use our printable tape measure. This tape measure will not only tell you which size you are, but also provide insight into which adjustment your brace will need to be set in. Once you have a brace, let us help you make sure it fits properly.

Start by choosing your brace, then follow the instructions below.

Broll

Fit the Broll around your child, so it sits down on their shoulders. Each back support features what we call Jr Smart Mounts. This upper area of the back support has 2 hidden axle locations, and by switching each axle from the stock position you will move the back supports 8mm, making the size bigger to accommodate a growing child. Choose the axle position that provides a snug fit, and works best for your child.

To use the provided chest strap, fasten the two front vertical straps to the velcro bonded on the underside of the foam, then loop the rear vertical strap through the frame and secure the velcro tab. To fasten the strap during use, simply use the release clip on the front.

Tyke

Fit the Tyke around your child, so it sits down on their shoulders. Each back support features what we call Jr Smart Mounts. This upper area of the back support has 2 hidden axle locations, and by switching each axle from the stock position you will move the back supports 8mm, making the size bigger to accommodate a growing child. Choose the axle position that provides a snug fit on their chest and back, and works best for your child.

Each Tyke comes with our Jr Hybrid strap - It combines the versatile function of the common elastic “X" straps, with the comfort of a chest strap. To wear the Hybrid Strap, put it on just like a t-shirt - First put each arm through one of the sides, then lift it up and put your head through the middle, making sure the thinner straps end up over top of your shoulders, and the thicker straps end up around your chest. Adjust all 4 straps to the desired length - It works best when the thicker straps around your chest are sitting flat, instead of pulling at an upward angle. You can wear the Jr Hybrid strap over or under your jersey.

Prodigy

Put on your Prodigy brace, and test the fit. The chest, back, and shoulder padding should be resting snug against your body. Each Prodigy brace features our rear Smart Mounts. Smart mounts are reversible to make the brace fit a thicker chest, and they also feature 3 angle adjustments to help fine tune the fit. If the brace is too tight and not resting down flush on your shoulders, try reversing the position of the Smart Mounts. Certain body types may want to adjust the angle of each back support, and you can choose from -10, 0, or +10 degrees to make sure each back support sits flat against your upper back.

Each Prodigy comes with our Jr Hybrid strap - It combines the versatile function of the common elastic “X" straps, with the comfort of a chest strap. To wear the Hybrid Strap, put it on just like a t-shirt - First put each arm through one of the sides, then lift it up and put your head through the middle, making sure the thinner straps end up over top of your shoulders, and the thicker straps end up around your chest. Adjust all 4 straps to the desired length - It works best when the thicker straps around your chest are sitting flat, instead of pulling at an upward angle. Air/Carbon

First put on your brace, and test the fit. The chest, back, and shoulder padding should be resting snug against your body when adjusted correctly. Next, decide on a height setting that will provide you with a sufficient range of motion and eye sight while riding. You can opt to use, or not use, the supplied height spacers. After choosing a height preference, fine tune to fit your chest thickness. Each adult brace features our rear Smart Mounts. Smart mounts are reversible to make the brace fit a thicker chest, and they also feature 3 angle adjustments to help fine tune the fit. If the brace is too tight and not resting down flush on your shoulders, try reversing the position of the Smart Mounts. Certain body types may want to adjust the angle of each back support, and you can choose from -10, 0, or +10 degrees to make sure each back support sits flat against your upper back.
